This was a gift, and we have no idea whether it should be indoors or outdoors or what to do with it. It's about tripled in size over the past week and now has big white conical flowers, five petals, no, uh, stamen or whatever you call the things that stick out of some coney flowers. It's really awesome and we want to care for it appropriately. Help?

It's hard to tell from the picture, but it looks pretty ficus-y- it's at least some type of tropical leafy plant. Probably best left indoors. Plants with leaves like that tend to like shade- it would probably not do well out on the roof.
It looks like a species of Gloxinia, of which there are hundreds. Try using Google images to identify it.
Looks kinda triffidy to me. Does it move around the room?
Mandevilla
Mandevilla! That's it! Just googleimaged and it's definitely one of those. It says it loves sun and doesn't like cold so it needs to come inside when below 50. Also says it needs a trellis. I'm thinking it might also need some handcuffs or something (no, not that kind) the way it's shooting out all these crazyass arms and trying to eat our pets.
After I saw the picture I was at Home Depot today, and they have a display of them - same leaves, and five petals. What are the odds of that happening?
